'Ugetab was known as the hacking hermit. He came into GSHI with a huge database of codes, many of which were unique and never hacked before. Just about any code request thrown at him he was able to fill. All in all, over 10,000 of his codes have been added to the site. He later returned to hibernation but came back once in a while to fill code requests.

Sadly he passed away, on June 30, 2010. He was a very skilled hacker, one of the best. His departure is a big loss to the scene.

We asked his mother some info about him, which she kindly provided to us:

"Daniel had Autism, he overcame many obstacles in his life from the autism to get to where he was . He was a very kind and considerate person. He was a scuba diver and dived many areas, he especially liked wreck diving. He went to college and graduated with honors. He was born in Utica, New York. He lived in Hickory, North Carolina for 21 of his years. He learned to drive when he was ready. He had his own computer repair business. The computer was a great outlet for him, it gave him a way to view the world . He was a voracious reader on many subjects. He liked politics, and he took voting seriously. He had a great smile laugh and sense of humor. He was very knowledgeable on subjects you wouldn't think he'd know anything about . He had a vast vocabulary to boot. But he liked doing game codes and music rips. I'd watch him on occasion and he'd work at it till he'd get it done. Such a loss to me. He always thought his autism got in the way of his intelligence but that was far from the truth. I guess he didn't see himself the way I saw him. I got to see him come so far in his life and still growing . He was very special to me and always will be. I don't know if some of this is anything you wanted, but had to add these . Thank you."

His friend, Lazy Bastard wrote the following words regarding this issue:

"A long time GSHI admin, and a good friend of mine, recently passed away in his sleep, of unknown causes. ugetab was a recent honor graduate in computer science, with a bright future ahead of him. He was a genius. He was kind, selfless, diligent, and unique, with a great sense of humor. He was a huge contributing factor to GSHI, though mostly behind the scenes, and his work will leave a lasting impact. He was one of the greats. He will be missed."

Indeed, he will be missed. But he must not be forgotten. He must live in our memories.

Farewell, hacking hermit, wherever you are.
