Fallout 76 Day One Patch Is How big?

The install size of the Fallout 76 Day One Patch has been revealed. It’s no doubt going to leave you scratching your head. Details inside.

I’m going to get straight to the point here. Brace yourself. Fallout 76 Day One is sitting at 52 GB in size. Yes, that is not a typo. I can’t even begin to be shocked at the huge size of the patch. Bethesda’s games are usually great games even though they’re sometimes hilariously broken. It’s hard to believe the size of this patch is due to just bug fixing only.

What’s even more hilarious about this news is that the actual game itself sits at 45 GB. That’s a total of 97 GB that Fallout 76 is going to take up on your console/PC disk space. In most cases, it all boils down to developers continuing work on a game long after it has gone Gold as they say. That’s when the game has gone to the publishers to print to disk and begin distributing before launch date arrives. All the new fixes and features then get pushed to a day one patch. That being said, I couldn’t possibly guess why this particular game is THAT big.
