  • Yes, Your Wi-Fi Router Is Easily Hacked

Thanks to a newly discovered security flaw, your home Wi-Fi is completely hackable, giving cyber thieves a front row seat to everything from your private chats to your baby monitor. And there's not much you can do about it — yet.

Called Krack, the attack takes advantage of the four way handshake, a process between a device and a router that has been around for 14 years and is designed to deliver a fresh, encrypted session each time you get online.

Secure WiFi is broken - Dr Mike Pound & Dr Steve Bagley on the Krack Attack discovered by researchers in Belgium.

Mike's description of crib dragging relates to Professor Brailsford's discussions of WWII Lorenz cipher cracking:

MAJOR Wi-Fi Exploit Found! ALL Your Devices At Risk! (How "Krack Attack" Works)

A major exploit in the WPA2 WiFi security protocol was discovered and announced that is one of the biggest exploits ever. Virtually every single Wi-Fi device in the world uses WPA for Wi-Fi encryption, and this set of Krack exploits now means any Wi-Fi connection can be intercepted and decrypted.

All devices are vulnerable, and some, such as Android and Linux devices, have an even more extreme vulnerability where an "all zero" encryption key can be installed, making it trivial to bypass any encryption on these devices.

Manufacturers and developers are already working on patches, but it is important that you will have to patch BOTH your devices AND router!
