  • Nintendo bans Creator's Program members from live streaming

As the company behind Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, and several other classic franchises, Nintendo is one of the most beloved names in gaming.

However, it’s also one of the most frustrating for members of the YouTube community who make their living via creating video game content.

Gamasutra has reported that the company has announced that members of the Nintendo Creators Program will no longer be allowed to live-stream Nintendo games on their YouTube channels.

The updated rules state that “Live streaming on YouTube falls outside the scope of the Nintendo Creators Program. You cannot broadcast content on YouTube Live from the account you have registered to the Nintendo Creators Program.”

Nintendo's just shooting itself in the foot over its desperation to stymie "unauthorized user-generated content". I mean, the concept of user-generated content is what's bringing Steam so much revenue. People buy their games so they can mod them, then get others to do the same. Why can't Nintendo follow that line of thinking? If they did, Nintendo could very well develop into a $100 billion+ gaming super-conglomerate, outpacing the likes of even Sony and Microsoft combined. Earth would truly become "Planet N".
      Tempus fugit, ergo, carpe diem.

Time flies, therefore, seize the day.

Same reason Atlus JP is doing what it is doing: Old JP businessmen with old-fashioned business philosophies. Until you get some new blood with the balls to change things, they will always be one step behind.
