Do we need another one of these? I don't think the consoles similar to this are selling that well.

Is it just me, or does that thing look like a remodeled XBox 360 Slim? NVIDIA should realize that Microsoft has already taken patents out on the colors black and green, and their use alongside one another.

NVIDIA SHIELD will be available for $199 starting in May, which includes a SHIELD Wireless Game Controller. Optional accessories include the Bluetooth remote control mentioned earlier, additional game controllers and a vertical stand. Pricing wasn't disclosed on any of the accessories or GRID subscriptions.
That's a very low price compared to the $400/$500 we are doing now for PS4/Xbox One. That alone is a big seller to me. The current consoles have just been getting their stuff either from NVIDIA or ATI in the last few generations too. It's like cutting them in the throat by selling them the weaker stuff at a high price while making a console to compete with them at half the price with the best hardware saved for yourself.

I also just read they will be having some kind of subscription service too for basically everything. I hate subscribing.

It looks appealing, but I'll wait for more info.

What is interesting is the Shield just got Vulkian support. Though there are no games yet that utilize it for the shield it will make a massive improvement in framerate. It will allow a game that might normaly use only one core of the quad or octcore tegra and use more of them more evenly and across the cores in the GPU as well.

If that is indeed the case, then Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo better keep a close eye on this thing, as it may overtake them in the near future.

And the PS4 has been hacked to install linux and because it is an X86_64 compatable hardware machine it can run Steam and Steam OS. In otherwords the PS4 is a SteamBox now
