  • Greetings and trainer /editor question

Hey guys, long time lurker of GH. I'M no hacker but I really like this site and appreciate what you do. I use emulators (nes, genesis, snes, etc.) often and 99.9 % of the time I come here for codes.
My question is, I have some OLD games for my PC from way back in the day when I had my first PC. It was windows 98.
I never really found the time to play them and they were forgotten. Well I recently rediscovered those old treasures and I've actually gotten Might and magic archives up and running through DOSbox. It's so cool I didn't have to find copies of them on the internet but can actually run the original disc!
Anyhow, enough rambling. I remember back in the day they had trainers for those old games, I even had a program called Universal Cheat Editor (I think) and you could get modules for almost any old game and modify your game.
I will soon be playing might and magic 2, and I've scoured the internet but can't find a trainer for it.
Do you guys have any suggestions? Thank you
    P. S. On the gog forums I managed to find a trainer for mm1 but no such luck for mm2

Not sure how you feel about making you own cheats, but here is something that was just posted today. Have no idea what it's about, but it does mention cheating with DOSbox games so might be something worth looking into...

EDIT: Another useful link for cheating on DOSbox games using Cheat Engine...

Ok thank you Tony. Your not Tony Hedstrom are you? THE Tony Hedstrom? That's so cool! I've used many of your codes over the years I can't remember the countless times I've went to gamefaqs looking for a walk-through for a game and you had done some codes for the game. Nice to finally get to converse with you.
Although I've never hacked my own codes, I will read the links you provided and I may try it.
On the other note about trainers-editors and so on. I remember now, the program was called universal game editor (UGE) and even if I try hacking my own, I would still like to see if I can find those old modules. Not just for might and magic but all of the modules. I found the program UGE yesterday but only sites dedicated to one module. At one point there were 27 or more modules. If I am successful in finding them all, I can preserve them and make them available to anyone who may want to try them.
The author of UGE was Jack Hartman. Have you ever heard of him or talked to him?
      Thank you for helping me

Glad you were able to use some of my codes.

Someone else will have to confirm this because I'm not sure of this at all, but it's possible that the guy that did UGE was a guy that used to hangout here named Ugetab. If it's the same guy, he passed away several years ago. But again, not sure if he's the same guy.

Hey Tony, thank you for replying and for the advice. That's bad news about Ugetab. I would like to have known him.
I think you may be right that he was Jack Hartman because I found an old angelfire web page belonging to Ugetab and he had listed tons of his old programs and stuff and buried all the way close to the bottom of the 2nd page he had a download link to the original UGE program complete with the registration key and 2 modules.

just as I had found an actual save game editor for MM1, I was hoping there would be such a tool for MM2. I know someone made one in the past but I could not find one.
However, I did find this SUPER COOL auto mapping program for MM1-5, Wizardry 1-5 and Bards Tale 1-3! Just so happens that its also a save game, character editor/ trainer! It does Everything I was looking for and then some.

I'm not so sure if Ugetab really was the person who created UGE; according to the topic where Ugetab's death was first announced to us, his real name was Daniel. Tony, you remember that UgetabsMOM is a member here, right? Maybe she can shed some light on the situation.
