well, i am impressed, i just finished playing thtough the demo (twice actually) and it was better than i was dreading.

when i found out they were putting an ffxi style mmorpg battle system in, i wasnt looking forward to it, because i find them boring. but this game (seems) to be interesting and fast paced enough.

i really like how quick the battles are, since theres no "victory screens" and screen transitions, to go into battle. you just walk up to something, whack it a bunch of times, and keep running.

also, one chick uses a bow and arrow as a weapon, which made me really happy, as they havnt really been used since ff5 i think.

the graphics are really good, remind me of ffx and 11 combined, somehow...heh.

but the music is amazing. well, the few songs that are in the demo are very cool. they sound like ff:tactics advanced (which this one is sorta based on) but with real instruments, not gba synthesizers.

so i guess i am finally kinda interested in the game.

I quit playing those games after FFIX, but I'm sure my bro is gonna get it. I told him to keep away from XI since you have to subscribe to a service just to get any real use out of it. It's too bad they didn't incorperate a offfline mode like this game is gonna.

I stoped the whole Final fantasy thing after FFX (well FFX-2 that is) Doers not mean I wanted to quite, just with me working at nights and trying to have some nice game playing when I can, the whole 'online' thing just rather soured me on the whole thing.

I mean yes it looks great, but the facts of #1 NO cheats in online mode, and further more 'online' game play costing an arm and a leg, I'd much rather buy an offline game and own it totaly and not have to 'pay to play' each month.

Now I will say, not sure FF11 is 'online or not' but with my money spending habbits, I know online play is nothing I can afford nor want a bill for right now with plenty of other offline games just around the corner and such.

Not knocking it, FF11 does look sweet, just I myself have alot of hold ups on it, #1 not being sure if it is online or not, and #2 if is online, [aying for all the mess, is just not something I would do, not that I do not have the money, just the time as said I would get from it, would not be worth the money. It would be a PS2 hard drive and PS2 is about 'dead' in anycase, so pretty much to me not worth it, and then the pay to play online mess, then my time having to work as we all do, I know but other then play I have other stuff I love to do in my free time other then video games, short and simple, I'd be a lowly level 4 running around my little island on FF whacking those little leafer rabbits to go up levels, and after awhile, that would get really 'old' (again because of the no cheat codes on online games mess)

So do not get me wrong, I am not knocking it, it looks great and fun, just the bann of online codes and all the coasts of simply getting online to play is just beyone me. (not truely beyone, if that is what I wanted I could afford it, I just have my eye on other things for this Holiday season I'd ratehr buy then 'online' time, and all the extra cost mess you need for that, that ethernet hook up, highspeed, and a PS2 HD.) Anyway again not knocking it at all, just not me it seems, unless it is an offline game, but online again, so far just 'sours' me these days. (The whole idea and concept of online game play in my view still has a long way to go before 'everyone' is open to it. Things, like cheat devices for those who bought them and alot more cheaper services to get online, like maybe using our own IP net conenctions and such.)

The idea of no real tranisitions could be good... But eh, I'm not sure how they've set up the battle system. And, what's this about FFXII online? Is it mostly a normal game, or is there some screwy online feature(s)?

Well, I may have messed up, Okay I did mess up, I thought it was one of those online only games, again I am not sure, but that bug 'Square-Enix' has had up their ass for two years now about 'everyone is online' in an online world, let's make money is kind of what killed off alot of FF fans as far as that 'online FF11' anyway.

So I may be wrong, (oaky am wrong) so far I just know it is a demo with Dragon Quest 8, I just know as I said for a little over two years Square-Enix has had that online bug up their ass, and can never really trust that.

well, i played ff xi for over 300 hours before i got really truely bored of it, its just too slow paced, ie wait an hour to get a party, then someone leaves, then wait another hour for replacements. then when you finally do get rolling, the combat is just too slow.

this does seem faster, and as far as i know xii is offline only... but we shall see

i did run through the demo again, and i still really like the speed of which you get in and out of battle, but i just wish it didnt have that "mmorpg" feeling to it. if they wanted to do battles on the map, i think i would prefer chrono trigger style.

so it definatley is better than i was expecting, i just dont think its gonna have that final fantasy 'feel' to it. but then again, x, x-2 and xi didnt feel the same, either. oh well, at least the ff4 remake for gba is out next month
