Does anyone here still play this game. It's not really an emulator but I think it's the best and most customizable fighter out there for pc.

I would really love to find a good character editor/creator. I got one but it's imcomplete(no .act creator). Somebody help me find a better prog.

Does that site have anything you don't have? I used to use MugenCharacterMaker when I was into Mugen, but I don't really mess around with it anymore. I liked MUGEN, but sound always was crackly and low quality on my system.
I tried the highest Linux version of Mugen as well, it's hella better but harder to setup since it's on linux. Too bad I haven't seen a port to windows of that version..

    Default more prob. with mcm

mcm prog. doesn't display the .pcx files I input properly(all screwed up). It does show .pcx made by others. The only .pcx creator I have is microsoft "picture it".
Maybe it's the piece a crap ibm aptiva and win98se I got. Anybody have any advice on this. Maybe an image prog. under 120 mb because I use flash drives to transfer data between library and home.

This site has a good one but it's too big for me! (hope showing this isn't illegal.)

You ought to try The Gimp, which is considered by some people to be better than photoshop, free, and not really huge.It can handle a ton of different image formats, including pcx. And something useful, it'll run on just about anything, just slower if you've got an old computer. The whole thing is about 10 MB.

Sure hope gimp is compatible with mcm!

I got a book on java 2d graphics! Can java be used to create my own 2d fighter! I know this is complicated but I'm up to it even though I'm not a math expert.

Also got " beginning programming for dummies" and "c++ in 10 minutes"
Any advice for which programming language to learn.

Well, both java and C++ have their pros and cons*coughjavaissatancough*

It will take you quite a bit of knowledge in either to make a good 2d game engine. Definatly more than the 10 minutes that book says it will provide :P

That model would probably work, but not as well as one that has a decent 3d capable chipset for video. It would likely run anything that doesn't use 3d graphics pretty well. You probably want to stay away from "intel integrated video"... Other than that, I don't really know much about laptops, heh...
