EDIT - I had a code request to skip random battles. It turns out I found a race car to speed me around the landscape of ancient Chinaland to avoid the random battles. Yes, a race car.
Consider the matter solved, thanks anyway.

Haha, that's awesome. I don't remember the race car in this game, as I beat it on an actual NES so long ago, but I do remember being pleasantly surprised at how cool the game was. Good choice in games!
US NES games left to beat: 3
Last 2: Nobunaga's Ambition II and Gemfire
The racecar is found about 70% into the game. It runs on batteries you have to buy. You can also buy a helicopter to speed you from city to city. Its a sequal to Flying Dragon, the overworld is RPG style and the battles are played out just like Flying Dragon. You find Rick the Flying Warrior in one of the caves to help you. Hes from Flying Warriors, another game from Culture Brain.
I really liked that game. The SNES sequel is almost a remake of the NES version. Too bad the other sequels were never translated.
