    Default Requesting requests!

The rest of the staff and I are always pondering over what will make GSHI a better community. We toss ideas back and forth, debate over the minutia of implementation and how people will enjoy (or not enjoy) various modifications and new features, and talk about nachos and beer. Wait, that's not relevant.

Anyway, my 'What hacking guides are still required?' thread has sparked my interest in a broader sense. It's made me realize that there are probably half-dozens of good ideas floating around in the minds of GSHI's members and visitors. Sometimes, we can't see the forest for the trees.

Without further ado, I implore thee: What would be a useful, entertaining, or interesting feature to add to GSHI? What would you like to see improved, augmented, streamlined, or removed? What irritates you about the site, forums, or chat? What is your favorite color?

Feel free to go into detail (or, conversely, be as lazy as you like). If we get enough response to this, I'll make it a competition of sorts, and award a prize to the person with the best idea. And worst case, if even a handful of people respond, and have a good idea or two, you'll see GSHI improve to your liking.

This is kind of weird but, several times now, NSF requests haven't picked up until I had waited long enough to not be in the mood to randomly produce stuff. I wonder if the same basic principle applies here?

NSF files eh? well there is a torrent with a entire collection of NSF files. approx 89MB worth of NSF files. *o*

there is no collection of SPC files so far. that would be interesting if there was a nice large collection of them with corrected ID tags.

thats my goal at some point to figure out how to re tag the NSF files so they play correctly on FOOBAR and are inserted into my database on my rockbox enabled device.

ugetab if you want acess to that collection of mine give me a heads up via PM

what is needed is a guide to how to created the various cheat files used for the different emulators. for example how to create a .cht file for a gba emulator.

Hmm...I've never tried to make one, but I'm surprised it's that difficult. Is there anyone you know who does know how to make them?

whats difficult is tagging them. i found one tagger but it works like PCSX2 on a Pnetium 1 MMX 266mhz computer. works sometimes other times it doesnt.

This is a somewhat dead thread so I'll throw an idea out there. How about having a submit codes pages that users can fill in with their codes then one of the staff will have an option to accept or reject if there is good reason to. I think this will streamline the code updates on the DB.

That's a great idea, especially if choosing Accept would automatically add those codes to the DB.

    That does sound pretty awesome!
Either that, or maybe allow more longtime users to be database editors.

For instance, why don't users such as Tony H. have the ability to add codes?
He's been around since way before me and taught many of the current mods and stuff.
Hell, GSHI even host his site LOL.
