Default Project Artemis: Live PS2 Hacking System

In case you're not aware, Artemis is a Work-In-Progress PS2 hacking system, similar to (but far superior to) the old GameShark Pro for the PSX and N64. Check it out here:

Interesting, I came across this while searching for Gameshark Pro functionality on ps2 (which doesn't seem to exist, strangely enough), because I had done some relatively interesting things with the in-game memory editor for ps1. From what I'm reading, it looks like Artemis hasn't quite emulated that yet. So I'm kind of looking for any alternative products similar to Gameshark Pro which actually have that functionality for ps2.

With Artemis, I'm thinking it might be tedious to dump the game memory, then modify some values, then restart the game with new values, then go back to the point in the game (if you can) where you wanted to see their result, if any (if this is even possible with Artemis). Not that I'm skeptical about the project, it sounds great, but I'm not sure what I can do with it, as far as changing gameplay goes. What have you all done with Artemis as users, how does it enhance ps2 games at this level of development?

Just wondering... I'm sure it's good idea none the less.

I've mainly used it to find simple things that deal with changing things and scanning for changes, or else I've used it to find pointers. I'd love the functionality to change in-game code as I'm playing. I'm sure that's on the list of things to do though. I don't know a single thing about breakpoints, but watchpoints sound like the sort of thing I'd love to be using.

Does that mean you can execute your code (which is loaded into the game), or are you just taking notes at this point?

By the way I was reading about ps1 emulators and the playstation emulation cheater, which may be what I was after as far as gameshark functionality (on compatible games at least).

PS2rd would be the equivalent of [PEC] for PS1, with the slight change that you need to connect your PS2 to your computer to scan for codes. It's the only thing I've tried other than an emulator at this point to use to find codes for PS2 games. There was also some debugging tool called Kermit that I haven't looked into yet, but I'm assuming it's aiming for the same type of thing.
