Curious if any of you hackers out there have had games that just bugged you cause you have trouble finding the code(s) you are trying to find. I know there's a few games that get me stumped.

Currently it is Virtua Fighter for 32x. Try as I might I have been winding up with false addresses that seem only change things graphically. It gives the apprearence of the code I am looking for but when I test it I see that nothing really is effected. Also Shadow Squadran for 32x. In fact, that game is one that noone has had luck hacking. I probably found about 8 codes that seemed to keep the energy bar from moving but you still die cause the code only changed the graphic from changing but you are still losing energy.

I've had some problems like that... The worst one was the room modifier for Metal Gear Solid... I tried hacking it quite a few times over a few years, and then find out I'd had the code all along, though be it for VR Missions... I haven't really had too much problems hacking things for awhile, mostly out of lack of actually hacking much... Which sucks.

I've actually got a real Virtua Fighter 32x cartridge, and what I'd recomend is seeing what the differences between how much health you have are when you change the bar size on the options. It might not help at all, but it could.

i think the most pain in the ass code i ever did, besides going through thousands of digits for map mod codes in ff7 and ff tactics, probably was no battles for xenogears.

it was easy to get one for the world map, but getting one for interior locations was really weird. i cant remember it exactly, but i think it had like a countdown to get into battle, then it was just a matter of doing less than searces until the battle started, then when it was over, go a greater then, then back to less thans.. or something like that.

    Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (SNES/GG)

Worked on an Infinte Health code for 2+ years. No deal. Found what I was looking for after 1 week using Geigers SNES9X debugger. Looking back, I would have NEVER found the codes. Even with the tracer.

Never hurts to have the right tools, eh?

At one point I was trying to squeeze that debug menu code outta NiGHTS Into Dreams for Saturn, 'coz some peoples found text in the game suggesting it exists. But since the saturn emu I use loads up slow, it pissed me off to have to wait a long time to get back in-game after the emu crashed, and I gave up. Also that game doesn't have any menus in-game besides the pause screen, which made it hard to even search for such a menu. :?

I did make a code to let the kids fly around even when not in NiGHTS form though, that was pretty cool lookin'.

    on psx...

"A Collection of Activision Classic Games for the Atari 2600."

I can't make an inf life or anything else code for any of the 2o games on it. This game collection NEVER had any codes made for it (I requested some quite a few times when it first came out). Oh, I remember hacking out a change from color to b&w code but that's it.
