Hi everyone. i'm sure this question and request has been ask before..

Anyone? :?
I can understand your wish for codes for this game, the very same topic has been ask and requested alot ever sense the game came out really.
The thing is, here are the best PSX and retro game system hackers at this place on and off alot, and though they are the best. Not tooting horns here, just what I have seriously came to see as hackers here have codes on GSCCC.com and such and have had code there for years. Just saying what is true, this is home sorta for some of the best hackers in the world as far as PSX and retro systems go.
Now the point is really sorta sad, and well just out with it, the point is, Suikoden 2 is a very rare game. I am lucky to own it and enjoy it myself, but as for others other then yourself and I, I am not sure if anyone has this game here with hacking ability.
The game is rare, really truely rare, so rare it is going on ebay prices for like $400.00 the last time I looked and that was years ago, and these days 'any' PSX title is sorta rare also, other then all the sports games and titles.![]()
So I do understand your code requests and wishes, but really.... sad to say with such a rare game, it is up to yourself if you can and shall elarn hacking as I am trying to as well, as I also have several 'rare' games I requested codes for but no one has it, it being so rare so I have to try myself, sometime or another, as with The Fifth Element game.
Not being a smart butt or anything, as is, I'd also love codes for major battles in Suikoden 2, just the sad fact of life is alot of PSX games these days are getting ever so rare to get ahold of....![]()

yep, as a matter of fact, what you're saying is true.. but the point is , what's the best hacking tool to hack? i'm a noob to come to these.. and its also kind of tiring to request if i would have know how to do it myself.. i mean lots of people want those major battle codes/.. (it rox, don't you agree?) :POriginally Posted by Amy
so.. if you could just say teach me a thing or two, i'll try to hack my very best for it![]()
Well, as far as teaching, I am no hacker myself really, I do mess with the GSPro code generator abit and am looking always into effects and such for The Fifth Element game codes and other such things, but as far as true teaching, I'd really suggest asking a hacker here and take advice from them.
I'd also say to read my own Fifth Element code request topic here in PSX Hacking, as Lazy and LMZ told me how to hack codes with GSPro in that, and would help I think in your case as well.
Otherwise, I am aware there is some things around here on the site for download that help in code hacking, not much I really messed with, but some programs that help alot in hacking so I understand it. Also, the code generator in GSPro also is the best thing itself.
With GSPro, I'd say start a Major Battle, and turn Code Generator on, and make a movement and attack in the major battle then go back to code generator and search for known and unknown values. That pretty much in the easy ways of explaining it all is how hacking is done, It will give you alot of code possibilities to all search through, a whole lot...but that is the start really, well as far as I know.
Again I am not a hacker 'really' have used GSPro code generator before and such, but as for 'major' type codes, am still myself trying to nail all that down, so best bet ammong best bets is to ask the hackers here who are the best and really know the art.

There's some info about how to hack in the Hacking FAQs and Stuff section. It's worth at least looking at if you're interested in hacking codes.
Amy said that most/all hackers here can't hack any codes for rare games like "Suikoden 2" because they usually don't own the rare game that someone wants codes for.
Dumb question time; have any of those hackers tried to RENT one of those rare games for a few days (for the purpose of hacking a requested code for it)? My local Hastings has obscure titles like that.
I also own "Suikoden 2". Sadly, I can't hack any psx codes myself because my psx's GS-Pro 3.1 has the habit of freezing if I try to hack with it, (but otherwise it works fine). I'd get one that doesn't freeze if I try to hack with it if GS-Pros' weren't even more rare than rare games are.
Anyway though, that's my idea.
Well, I understand your idea and question, and hey now, no question is dumb. However, it is I may say asking of alot in some cases.... :?
I mean Okay well not to sound all rude nor like a pain, but to think about it all really and humanly, these hackers are people ofcorse, and have lives as well, and well many times people forget alot of hackers (the home brew sort like here) are not paid by Datel (Action Replay) nor Pelican (Code Breaker), nor even the now 'dead' Interact (GameShark used to eb til Mad Catz) So it is really like saying hey go rent the game is like hey give me your time and a few dollars. Again I mean not to sound all down about it, but some may see it that way.
A game rental is like $2.15 or so a day, as far as I rememebr, maybe higher now? then plsu the time the hacker has to spend to 'play' the game to certain points for code, which can and may take awhile, specialy with long RPG games like Suikoden 2. So, really...that is like asking for time and money of the hacker. Again not saying this to be a pain nor smart in anyway, not wishing to sound mean nor rude at all, but that is how I see things really.... yes codes are nice but think of the time and pains it took to make them.
Also, about the whole rental thing, well seems okay, again a small money issue, but otherwise, that is and was my last point, the point here now is, well, I am not sure about everywhere else in the world, but rental stores, I truey do not even see how they keep going. I myself have not rented a single thing, game movie or otherwise sense 1996. 8 and nearly 9 years even.
I mean I see rental stores always around, and I even shop there at times, 'buying' games and DVDs and such, but never renting anylonger. I do not even have a 'valid' rental card anymore for any rental stores around me anylonger, I have cards yes, but not been used as I said sense 1996. Otherwise and in anycase, I not seen PSX titles for rent anywhere in a good long time.... The PSX titles all but those 'sucky ones' and sports titles have pretty much vanished as of the past 2 years also from any and all gmae stores around here anyway.
You said they have it at Hastings, that sounds like a neat rental store, but around here, around me, we have Movie Gallery, Video Hut, and BlockBuster, and none of them have I even ever seen that game title much less as I said any PSX titles anylonger. (the rental stores around me are even selling off 'all their' GBA titles now as the Nintendo DS is the bigger thing now.)
Anyway point on rental places again is well... I think and feel rather that 'rentals' are dying...did for myself a long time ago, but otherwise, now everything on TV atleast is better then rental, all the Pay Per Views and such. all the Tivo mess, and all the digital mess all putting, I really think a hurt on the rental business alot....
Again I know that is no help really in your point, which I do see and respect, but then again as for your point we have to be considerate of our hacker friends, asking for time to create codes is indeed something we must respect in that our hacker friends do this for us, but when it comes to asking them to shell out money...that gets abit 'iffy'. :?
Otherwise then all that, there are other ways to get our hacker friends these games so they can hack it with no cost to them other then time for codes and such. It is not exactly something to be talked about out in the 'open' but otherwise, ehhh as far as I am, I do not mind it, and no one here minds it either, and what is that you ask? Well that is all dependible also on the hacker and the one wishing codes also. and that is in fact 'copying' a game and sending the copy through the net to the hacker. (The part on 'you' or otherwise those who are able to do this is well, high speed internet access for both you and the hacker so it does not take 7 days and such) So that is 'a way' to get codes and not really be a cost to the hacker, simply offer to send them the ram dump of the game itself.
As is I was asked about doing that once, only shame in that is well, I do not have the 'speed' to send somehting that big, but for those who can, if you can that is 'a way' more or less....

very informative post amy on your point, but here is my opinion as i have all suikoden games even this one you are asking for codes, the problem is ive spent a few hours when the game was new trying to hack these Major Battle codes and i couldnt find a damn thing, maybe the first battle was easy because thats the only battle that has codes for it,maybe thru asm it can be hacked unfortunatly i dont know how to make GS asm codes,i believe LZM or was it Lazy Bastard was supposed to give a lil tutorial on how to do it,i have all the equipment but i guess we never got to it,so in saying i can provide the game to any1 who has a fast connection but i know they will come up short on results like i did.
Mario Kart Wii: 2234-7741-7358
Smash Bros Friend Code: 2921-8802-0067
Wii Registered Friend Code: 7680-7019-7436-7814
Xbox 360 Gamer Tag: Furious Helder2
Well, yes you are right Helder, I do rememebr and recall seeing this topic alot over at GSCCC back in the day when this game was 'new' and it seemed there was always a few issues getting the battl code for all battles.
I myself really do not wish the codes, I emanw ell any code is always good, but felt for Seph up there ebcause he wishes for them so badly, I myself just well blasted through the major battles, as long as everyone lived I was happy with the results myself, but anyway as is a code wished and requested is always good as I said.
As for the renting thing, also did not wish to sound rude to Cartman in anyway, just as life is, I as said not rented anything in a good 8 years even, and I recall once LMZ said he did not even rent no more nor had a card at his local rental store, on top of that being that rare games, like Suikoden 2 is now these days even more rare also as I said, I go into BlockBuster and Video Hut and such stores and buy DVDs and such, but not seen a PSX game for sale or rent in a good time, so odds of Suikoden 2 being at any rental store other then the one Cartman said I would not bet on really.![]()
As for that idea of your's Helder, maybe if Lazy or LMZ has the speed they can accept the game, I think maybe Lazy can. And isf all good with him may look into it. Again I recall this from my The Fifth Element game code requests and wishes, again a rare game (no not a greta game really, but rare yes) and well, I always wanted to get codes done for it, and tried myself, with the code generator and such, but as is, I am not a hacker in that way so blahh on my feeble tries. heh but maybe someday if I can find the rom or such of the game itself, as Lazy asked I could send it to him, because I think it was he who said he hasd the speed to do that and such.
But as is really, will have to wait and see, this is one of those things when you have to wait to see what good and such becomes of it all. High Hopes always but will have to see.
