Probally a very overlooked part in the game.

When you start to go to Utai for the first time and Yuffie steals a bunch of materia.. a code that either limits how many she takes or a modifier of what she takes.

I'm gonna try an ee if I can get her to steal certain materia, I bought a 8 new materia and she won't touch it, so I'm thinking it might have something to do with AP value.

Interesting idea. Ought to be possible, even though I'm thinking she generally stole all of your materia...

I remeber this a good bit, as at one time the whole deal with a GS was all on that one game, FF7.

Anyway I also remember it well, because I went through the game several times, and from what I recall. (Been awhile sense I been through it now, I have to someday play it however, my saves have all been ertased. Anyway from what I recall.

Yuffie only takes a set number of your materia. Being with 'most' people, and playing the normal game without the use of any codes, normaly that would be 'all' of your materia. Yet as with the GS codes where you can have and and all materia, and materia does not reproduce itself as it does when you use masive AP gain codes on and with GS and such.

Anyway, I am not sure of the number, but I do know the number is set, and is also based on materia types. I do not recall the types of materia orders, as it was on GameFaqs----well like years and years ago. (The way gamefaqs is, for sure sadly the guild is no longer there like many other GameShark guild and codes books for the FF games.)

Do not quote me, but I believe the materia Yuffie takes is yes based on AP gained and levels, as well as types. I am not sure, as I said do not quote me, but I do believe the type list was:

Magic (Green), Summon (Red), Support (Blue), Command (Yellow), Independant (Purple) I do believe that is and was the type list I saw over at GameFaqs a long time ago, and not really sure if true or not as I said most all times I played or play FF7 now or anytime, I have way more materia then Yuffie ever takes anyway.

Not sure but also ran across my mind, maybe could be the materia placement on the list that depends on what is took?

Anyway I know it is a set number, also strange at she takes so little (when using a GS) that when she returns it abit later, while using a GS you have never enough empty slot to get back your full inventory anyway.

She takes 48 of your materia, I have around 60-70.

But she's taking my All, Elemental, Added Effect and most importantly my Enemy Skill materia.

You ought to make a list of exactly what she steals, and then change what you've got and see if there's any similarities... I'd try one full set of every materia with no ap on any of them, and then the same with full ap...

blahhhh!!!! I also forgot, but remembered a small while back after I made my first reply up there about what Yuffie takes. Anyway I also rememebr again a FF7 guld at GameFaqs now long gone that mentioned Yuffie steals first what you are carrying on your charatcers in the battle/with her/in the active party.

Again I know note much of any help at all, but maybe is a small bit. Also again please excuse me for not having the 'perfect' memory on it all, gosh it has been quite a while sense all this was a huge subject anywhere on the net. This is somewhat over six years old even.... No reason it should not be around still, as is always we are always digging for older know-how...just wish those GameFaqs guilds would stay alot more then they vanish.

Anyway point is, I believe, I think Yuffie 'steals' from active party 'carried' materia first and foremost, so that may play as an effect.

I believe the small guild basicaly said, 'switch' your materia, put all the crappy materia in your weapons and armor of those 'in' your party, and leave the best in your stock pile, and Yuffie will run away with a bunch of useless mess, and you will have the best still in your stock. Not saying myself that 'any' materia is 'crappy' but that is what I believe the guild said abit, like more so, keep your best and 'carry' those you would not mind losing.

Imastered 5 steal and 5 sense materia and a few ice/fire/poison/lightning, and none of it was touched.

I think its only the materia that you've found and any Plus materia. (she steals from active, inactive and from the materia listing as well).

But I'll write everything down, an see whats left/stolen.

I'm only using the bypass gs code, and a code for inf. Potions/Ethers.

I figured out how to find where the materia is being stored when it's been stolen. It's really easy, and if I knew how to get to that area through the debug room, I'd try it myself... Pretty much, have exactly 1 materia, write down what it's values are in memory, let it be stolen, and search for those values... I'm not sure how much knowing where that's at would help, if any...

I doubt codes make much difference to what happens, as long as it's not ones involving materia...
