Default Ram hacking to action replay/game genie codes?

If I used a ram editor to hack various games, is it possible to get the data to codes for game genie/action replay?

That's generally how action replay codes are made. But not all codes made that way are compatible with a real AR. GG codes are specifically dealing with the ROM, so things found in memory aren't directly something that can be used as game genie codes.

I believe Tony Hedstrom wrote an FAQ about that. His site is in the Links section of GSHI, though we should probably make a topic about that here...

Still, I use art money like crazy to hack codes, if I could convert the codes I get from art money to action replay/game genie codes then we could have some extra codes.

simply find a code that has an existing PAR code and use windows calculator set to HEX and find the difference, then apply it to other codes to test and voila.

Sorry, I have no idea what you mean. I just use art money to hack pc games and roms. I can give you some codes I made and you can tell me how to convert them?

OK, if you use ArtMoney to hack an emulated game, then use ArtMoney to rehack a code that someone else has already hacked in PAR form. Then, open the regular Windows calculator, click the "scientific" button to expand all options, change the mode to Hexadecimal, and, looking at your code and the PAR code, put the bigger number in the calculator first, then subtract the smaller number from it. What you get in hex, will probably be the difference between all codes hacked through ArtMoney and PAR codes...you should be able to just subtract that amount from any ArtMoney codes, and have a working PAR code (or add that amount, whichever applies).

    Understand?

One step further, GameGenie codes are encrypted. That's something for later; first convert ArtMoney to PAR.

Sorry, but I'm still having trouble.
I want to make action replay codes from the codes I hacked in Art Money.
The only reason I wanted to know was that I can easily get codes and if we can make them into action replay/game genie codes then you could have a larger codebase.

Right, we understand. What part of my last comment are you having trouble with? Note that I have no intention of sounding rude; I'm merely trying to understand what specific area you're having trouble with.

Can you go find a code for a game in PAR (Pro Action Replay) form, then rehack that very same code with ArtMoney, and post both of those codes in this topic? That way, one of us would find the difference, and explain it to you.

I wish I could, any of the codes I use for the gens emulator for the UMK3 hack that I managed to hack for art money as well seems not to work now.
It's a bit odd, Lazy, I know you're trying to help and I'm thankful for that.
I'll keep trying and hopefully come up with codes that work on the gens emulator.
