That looks pretty impressive.
I may be lazy, but I can...zzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZ...
I've tried a gamemaker tool before, it was a bit too complicated for me to get into right away, but I've seen some good games made with it. Perhaps this will bring back 2d sidescrollers a bit. Cause those would probably be the easiest to make. Plus as the article said, we may start to see some innovation.
It's an interesting idea... I'm sure that microsoft isn't letting this sort of thing out without some plans for profiting involved. I have a feeling they're doing this partly to combat the supposed homebrew friendly environment ps3 is supposedly going to end up.
Well, $99 a year gets you into the creators club, and allows you to have a public sales protocol and allows your Games to become commercial Xbox 360. You could always get picked up by a developer though!!
Another thing I would like to mention, but haven't found, is that the Demo they showed of this Hardware creating a game, rivaled Burnout 3 in terms of sheer speed and quality. It was simply a choice of car dragging straight into a wall.
There will likely be some interesting things coming out made with this, but it just really seems like they're trying to give people a reason to go out and buy an xbox 360 with a hard drive.
Sony is trying to be all Dev'r friendly by using linux... it's just going to get hackzord
Maybe after some of those games start coming out I will have to get a xbox 360. I'm eager to see what will be made with it.
Well, I got my 360 the other day... and i'm quite happy with it. They were on sale.... $60 off.
