Mazaal will drop helpless for a few moments. Next shrink Link using the Pedestal. NOW you MUST activate the code by pressing L then go inside Mazaal. He will self destruct and the exit door will open. Activating the code after you go inside Mazaal will result in not beating him. Save your game before battling Mazaal.

It modifies a function that loads the 'tile property' value for each tile, when a map is loaded. It isn't perfect, because it only affects tiles, not objects, and won't do anything about 'one-way' tiles (e.g. cliffs you can jump off). It won't stop you from drowning, or falling to your death, either.
